Job Description

Minimum requirements for the role: A relevant qualification in business administration or supply chain management, or a related qualification is preferred for this role. Previous experience having worked in a procurement role within the retail or related markets is essential for the role. Previous stock management experience within the retail industry is essential for the role. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., inventory management systems, Microsoft Office suite) Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in inventory management and purchasing systems. Knowledge of the catering supplies industry and its trends is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Managing inventory and international and local procurement responsibilities for the company improving merchandising and related efficiencies and the challenges posed by competition within the hospitality / retail industry. Optimizing inventory levels by analysing historical data and forecasting future demand. Researching and identifying cutting-edge merchandise and technology to enhance existing categories or develop new ones. Implementing efficient stock rotation and management techniques to minimize waste and loss. Monitoring slow-moving stock and initiating clearance strategies to maximize revenue. Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve supply chain issues. Developing and implementing a competitive pricing strategy based on cost, market trends, and customer value. Ensuring accurate pricing and labelling of products to avoid discrepancies and customer confusion. Analysing sales data to identify trends and opportunities for product assortment optimization. Identifying and sourcing new products from local and international suppliers to meet evolving customer needs. Negotiating favourable terms with suppliers to optimize pricing and delivery schedules. Managing the import process, including customs clearance, documentation, and logistics. Ensuring compliance with import regulations and quality standards. Developing and executing marketing campaigns to promote products and services across social media, email, and print platforms. Collaborating with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities. Providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and resolving issues effectively. Participating in industry events and trade shows to network and build relationships with clients and suppliers. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
