Data Engineering & QA Internship Location: remote-first (office available at Crown Business Center, Zoetermeer) Start date: as soon as possible, no later than September 2025 Duration: 5–6 months | Hours: 32–40 per week | Compensation: €600/month Join us at Altum AI and help power the engine behind real estate AI At Altum AI , we’re building the data and API infrastructure for the Dutch real estate market. Our AVM (Automated Valuation Model) predicts market values of homes, and our Sustainability API advises on energy-saving measures and their impact on property value. All of this runs on high-quality data — and that’s where you come in. As a Data Engineering & QA intern, you’ll help collect, test, and optimize the datasets and models that fuel our platform. Example projects you'll work on Data Ingestion & ETL Research and gather public or commercial datasets (e.g., Kadaster, energy labels, residential real estate data) Write ETL scripts to transform raw data into clean features used in production Quality Assurance & Model Testing Design automated checks to ensure data consistency Run monthly audits of our prediction models Build tools to detect anomalies and edge cases in real-time Tooling & Automation Write test scripts to validate APIs before (re)deployment with Pytest Support automated testing for data pipelines and backend services Learn how data flows through AWS, MongoDB, Elasticsearch and more What you bring At least 2 years of academic or practical experience with Python Solid understanding of object-oriented programming Some familiarity with software testing principles or QA tools Fluent in English (spoken and written) Proactive, curious, and willing to share knowledge with the team Nice to have Experience with alternative data processing libraries in Python, such as Dask or Polars Familiarity with GIS or spatial datasets Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch) Some experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP What we offer Internship compensation of €600/month Possibility to grow into a full-time position after your internship Work in a fully remote, international team (Netherlands, Greece, Lithuania, Nigeria, Tunisia, United Kingdom) Flexible work hours — take a midday walk or power nap, no problem Access to latest LLM-models, top-tier tools, and an e-learning budget Close mentorship from our engineers and opportunities to collaborate across teams Ready to turn data into real-world impact?
