Job Description Post Title Project Support Officer Salary £28k per annum Hours Full Time - 37.5 hour per week. Whilst the standard office hours will be 8.15am until 5.00pm, Monday to Thursday (Office) and 8am to 12:30pm Friday (Work from Home), the post holder will be required to work such hours as are operationally required for the proper performance of duties. There will be occasions when flexibility in working hours is required to support specific tasks and events. For example, working early or late to support a VIP visit or Growth Hub event or attendance at a particular meeting for which time off in lieu will be given. Overtime is not paid. Location Coventry Employment Terms 31 st of March 2026 Reporting Lines This post reports to the Project Manager. But on some day-to-day tasks and in the absence of the Project Manager the post holder will be directed by the Head of Projects as needs dictate. Job Title: Project Support Officer Business Growth and Investment (Full Time) Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Standard office hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM (office-based) and Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM (remote). However, flexibility is required to meet operational needs. This may include early mornings or evenings to support meetings, VIP visits, or regional events. Time off in lieu will be provided. Overtime is not paid. Location: Coventry Contract Duration: Until 31st March 2026 Reporting Structure: Reports to the Project Manager. Day-to-day direction may also be provided by the Head of Projects in the absence of the Project Manager. Purpose of the Role: To support business growth and investment within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the West Midlands, contributing to the successful delivery of a regional Supply Chain Transition Investment Zone project and wider economic development initiatives. Key Accountabilities: Promote SME investment and development in the West Midlands. Collect and analyse business priorities and align them with project objectives. Lead on the delivery of project priorities and support the expansion of related initiatives. Foster stakeholder engagement to ensure long-term sustainability of projects. Identify potential collaborative projects in the region. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive project support for regional business programmes. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of SME support infrastructure and develop relationships with businesses to resolve growth barriers. Assist in managing projects to ensure timely delivery, stakeholder engagement, and effective budget use. Facilitate SME engagement with large enterprises and partner organisations to raise awareness of support programmes. Support business and strategic partner consultations on regional opportunities. Manage relationships with stakeholders to enhance local business and community outcomes. Use CRM systems to monitor, record, and report on project progress and business interactions. Prepare accurate data reports for local and national government and stakeholder use. Actively network within the local business community and with enterprise organisations. Contribute to the planning and delivery of workshops and events to raise project awareness. Share insights with project teams and stakeholders to inform future planning. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure comprehensive regional project support. Stay informed on national and local policies relevant to SME growth. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection policies. Report health & safety concerns and maintain appropriate records. Person Specification: Qualifications: (Essential) GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above. (Desirable) Degree-level education or equivalent. (Desirable) Qualifications in business, economic development, business advisory or project management. Experience & Knowledge: (Essential) Understanding of business or project management principles. (Essential) Experience of building effective partnerships with stakeholders. (Desirable) Previous involvement in project management, business support, or contract delivery. Skills & Abilities: Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable engaging senior stakeholders. High-quality project support, report writing, and networking abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to produce professional reports and presentations. (Desirable) Familiarity with Dynamics CRM or similar systems. (Desirable) Understanding of business investment processes and public sector operations. Aptitude: Professional and credible with a proactive, solution-focused attitude. Circumstances: Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings or evenings when needed. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
