Market Development Lead We are hiring two full-time Market Development Leads one in Financial Services and one in Transport. The salary is £63,363-£73,923, depending on experience. Here is a snippet about each sector: Financial Services The Financial Services sector is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by the need for greater data transparency, climate risk modelling, and digital innovation. From insurance and retail banking to asset management and FinTech, geospatial data is becoming a critical enabler of smarter decision-making, regulatory compliance, and customer insight. OS is uniquely positioned to support this evolution. Helping financial institutions assess climate-related risks, streamline onboarding, enhance fraud detection, and unlock new value through location intelligence. As Market Development Lead, you'll shape our strategy in this complex and high-value sector, identifying growth opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring our data remains at the heart of financial innovation. Transport The Transport sector is at the forefront of digital transformation, with increasing demand for integrated, efficient, and sustainable mobility solutions. OS plays a pivotal role in enabling this shift. Supporting everything from rail asset management and multimodal accessibility to emergency response and urban planning. Our geospatial data underpins smarter infrastructure decisions, optimised logistics, and greener travel networks. As Market Development Lead, you'll drive our engagement with this dynamic sector, identifying innovation pathways, influencing product development, and forging partnerships that help shape the future of transport in Britain. Join our dynamic Markets team The Markets team, within the Product business unit, is at the forefront of OS's transformation. Shaping how we respond to a rapidly evolving location data landscape. As the industry moves from traditional GIS to integrated spatial insight, we're navigating and leveraging external developments from AI and digital twins to next-generation smart mobility, spatial finance, climate resilience, and immersive geospatial experiences to ensure OS remains relevant and impactful. The Markets team sits at the heart of OS's growth strategy, playing a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's future. As a Market Development Lead, you'll be central to identifying and unlocking new opportunities for market expansion- helping to define where OS goes next. From developing innovative geospatial tools that bring location data to life, to forging strategic partnerships that open up new destinations for our data, our work is all about driving Better Data to More Destinations. This is a high-impact role where your insight and leadership will directly influence OS's strategic direction, product development, and market engagement at the highest levels. Our current focus is on discovering high-potential opportunities across four key sectors; National Security & Resilience, Financial Services, Land & Property, and Transport all aligned with our strategy of Better Data, More Destinations, and Greater Effectiveness. About the role As a Market Development Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping OS's future growth strategy. You'll lead the development of market insight, strategy, and partnerships for either the Financial Services or Transport sector-two areas critical to our long-term success. This is a high-impact role focused on turning insight into action and driving Better Data to More Destinations. In this role, you will: Lead in-depth market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and innovation pathways. Develop and own the market growth strategy for your sector, aligning with OS's strategic objectives. Define and maintain a holistic view of your market-covering customer needs, value propositions, and emerging opportunities. Represent OS as a sector expert, engaging with senior stakeholders, customers, partners, and internal teams. Collaborate with Customer and Marketing teams to shape and deliver coordinated growth strategies and promotional activities. Work closely with Product teams to develop compelling market value propositions that inform product roadmaps. Apply value proposition methodologies (e.g. DVF - Desirability, Viability, Feasibility), customer journey mapping, and competitor analysis tools. Share your expertise to support team development and foster a collaborative, insight-led culture across OS. What we're looking for We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with deep market knowledge and a passion for innovation. You'll be confident engaging at senior levels, with the ability to turn insight into action and influence across OS and the wider market. You should bring Strong knowledge of either the Financial Services or Transport sector, with a track record of building networks and partnerships. Experience in market analysis, proposition development, and delivering growth strategies. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work across teams to shape product and market direction. Commercial awareness and the ability to lead complex sales or partnership opportunities. A creative, insight-driven approach to identifying trends, customer needs, and innovation opportunities.
