Reverse Operations Manager

As we expand our European operations, we’re looking for a proactive and experienced Reverse Operations Manager to lead the returns and reverse logistics processes in our Rotterdam fulfilment center. Position Overview As the Reverse Operations Manager , you will oversee all aspects of the returns operation within the fulfilment center. This includes the processing, inspection, sorting, repackaging, and restocking or disposal of returned goods. You’ll lead a team, ensure high standards of accuracy and efficiency, and work closely with customer service, inventory, and outbound teams to minimize losses and improve return cycle time. Key Responsibilities Manage Returns Flow: Lead the daily operations of the returns department, including receiving, inspecting, and processing returned items Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of return processors, quality checkers, and material handlers Process Optimization: Improve return handling procedures to maximize efficiency, minimize processing time, and reduce error rates Product Grading & Disposition: Ensure returned items are accurately graded (resellable, refurbishable, recyclable, or disposable) Data Accuracy: Ensure all return transactions are correctly logged in the WMS and synced with inventory systems Customer Experience Focus: Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure timely resolution of customer returns and refunds KPI Monitoring: Track key metrics such as return rate, processing time, return-to-stock ratio, and avoidable returns Compliance & Safety: Ensure all processes comply with safety regulations, company policies, and customer SLAs Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with inbound, outbound, inventory, and quality control teams Key Qualifications 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in returns or reverse logistics Strong leadership and team management skills Solid understanding of WMS systems and returns processes Analytical and process-driven mindset with strong problem-solving ability Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus Experience with high-volume e-commerce or 3PL environments is an advantage Familiarity with product inspection and quality grading procedures Flexible availability for shift work if needed
