Venture Fellow

Venture Fellow Location: Remote (United States & Canada) Term: 3–6 months, ~5–10 hrs/week Please do NOT just easy apply if interested in the role! 404Fund is a Toronto-based fintech VC. We’re seeking up to four Venture Fellows to help us surface promising pre-seed/seed fintech startups. This is a strictly volunteer role, there is no salary, stipend, or promise of employment during the fellowship but successful Fellows will be first in line for a paid, full-time Analyst or Associate role after our Fund I first close. What You’ll Do: Deal Scouting : Monitor public sources (Crunchbase, Product Hunt, TechCrunch) for early-stage fintech teams. Intro Submissions : Send us one-page summaries of companies you believe fit our thesis. Market Research: Compile short, high-level industry trend briefs. Community Support: Help organize virtual “VC 101” webinars or founder roundtables—create agendas, invite speakers. Who You Are: Fintech Passionate: You read industry newsletters, follow key VC tweets, and can spot nascent trends. Self-Starter: Comfortable working independently, meeting agreed-upon milestones, and communicating via Slack/Zoom. Strong Communicator: You can distill a company into a 1-page teaser and write clear, concise trend notes. Networked & Curious: You attend hackathons, demo days, or local fintech meetups (virtually or in person). Why?
