Direct message the job poster from Pan American School Objective The SEL Monitor will support creating a psychologically and physically safe learning environment for our students. The primary focus of this position is supervising student interactions to ensure they refl ect PAS values and expectations. This includes modeling positive communication and relationships as well as mediating confl ict resolution. The SEL Monitors will be supported and supervised by the Director of Learning and Teaching. Mandatory Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Education underway with no more than 3 semesters to conclude or concluded; Advanced English; Commitment to the mission and culture of the Pan American School of Porto Alegre; Confidence and adaptability in working with different cultures and personalities. Responsibilities Contributing to the creation of a physically and psychologically safe learning and social environment Encouraging the development of socio-emotional skills: self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness; Promoting inclusive practices, activities, games, and playtime; Supervising students and their interactions during class and key moments such as arrival, departure, meals, recess, and transitions; Supporting students' emotional self-regulation; Facilitating students’ refl ection on situations and challenges; Instructing and modeling the use of assertive and nonviolent communication; Preventing and mediating confl ict resolution; Recording and documenting relevant incidents; Providing support to students, teachers, coordinators, and other departments.
