Job Description
SENIOR PAYROLL AND BONUS SUPERVISOR X1 (GRADING C4) Qualifying Criteria: Grade 12 or equivalent qualifications Diploma or Degree in Payroll Administration, Finance, or Human Resources. At least 5 years of experience in a payroll environment, with 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience managing payroll for a large workforce (preferably in mining). Solid knowledge of bonus structures, labour laws, and statutory requirements. Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Sage, or similar). SARS experience is advantageous Advanced Excel skills. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. High level of confidentiality and integrity. Experience with production bonus systems in a unionised environment. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. South African Citizenship Clear Criminal Record Responsibilities: Supervise and manage the end-to-end payroll function, including wages and salaries. Administer and reconcile production and performance-based bonuses. Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, company policies, and labour legislation. Prepare monthly payroll reports, reconciliations, and audit schedules. Liaise with HR, Finance, and Production departments regarding employee compensation and bonuses. Handle employee queries related to payroll and bonuses in a timely and professional manner. Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data confidentiality. Oversee statutory submissions (PAYE, UIF, SDL, etc.). Train and mentor junior payroll staff. Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1 Groups safety motto : Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely
