We are looking for a Beach Warden for our Holme Dunes Reserve to work with our volunteers in monitoring and protecting breeding bird colonies. This role involves conducting regular patrols of the area and interacting with visitors. Holme Beach Warden Salary: £25,472 per annum Contract type: 6-months fixed term contract Working hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week (5 days/week), including weekends and bank holidays Location: Holme Dunes, Holme Dunes Visitor Centre, Broadwater Road, Hunstanton, PE36 6LQ About Us Norfolk Wildlife Trust is the county’s largest environmental charity, committed to the protection and enhancement of Norfolk’s wildlife and wild places. NWT has an excellent reputation for the way in which it manages the Holme Dunes Nature Reserve. We also attract a broad spectrum of visitors from across the UK and beyond; specialist naturalists, serious and casual bird watchers to tourists, day trippers and those simply wanting to enjoy the breath-taking scenery and wildlife to be found in North Norfolk. About the Role This exciting 6-month fixed term role will focus on the protection of breeding shorebirds. This will involve engagement with visitors and local residents to highlight the importance of the site and its wildlife. The post holder will work with volunteers to monitor and protect breeding bird colonies through regular patrols of the site, engaging with visitors and dealing with transgressions in a non-confrontational manner. They will also host guided walks and visits to help inform visitors about the site, its wildlife and the importance of protecting it.
