Key information for a Mental Health Support Assistant: Salary : £85-100 a day depending on experience Start date: ASAP Hours: Full-time (08:30-15:00 Term-time only) Location: Newbury We are working with a wonderful specialist school that are looking for a dedicated Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team ASAP in a full-time basis. This school cares for young people aged 6-19 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and strives to provide them with the best possible start in life. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will be working closely with the students, Staff and other education and psychological professionals to facilitate a safe, supportive and nurturing environment. A Mental Health Support Assistant role is perfect for someone who: Has a nurturing and patient personality Has previous experience working with young people (Desired but not essential) Is passionate about having a positive impact on the well-being of students Is looking to pursue a career in Psychology or Education Has a Grade C/Level 4 GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths Roles and responsibilities of a Mental Health Support Assistant: Deliver specialized learning plans to vulnerable students in small groups and on a 1 to 1 basis Support emotional security and independence Provide classroom support to teachers and aid them in delivering lesson plans Liaise between parents and teachers to provide the best support possible Track student progress and provide feedback to the wider support team The role of a Mental Health Support Assistant is incredibly rewarding and meaningful, and allows you to have a huge positive impact on the development of young-people.
