This pivotal role will drive the strategic development and optimisation of our core digital platforms, with a growing emphasis on AI-powered innovation and data-driven transformation. From overseeing key systems like our Learner Management System (LMS), Salesforce CRM, AI tools, Power BI, and HR systems, to managing central SQL databases and integration processes—this role is all about unlocking smarter, more connected, and scalable solutions that power real insight and impact. You'll be at the forefront of accelerating digital enablement across the organisation, ensuring our platforms not only support but actively enhance both our operational effectiveness and our learners' success. A key part of the role also includes managing our Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) and working hand-in-hand with curriculum leaders to elevate digital learning delivery, ensure precise reporting, and harness data in ways that truly support learner outcomes. About the Role: Digital Systems Leadership : Manage and optimise core business systems to ensure scalability, usability, and alignment with academic and operational goals. AI & Automation : Drive the adoption of AI, automation, and emerging tech to streamline processes and personalise learning. Data Governance : Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance across all platforms. Business Intelligence : Develop reporting frameworks (e.g. Power BI) to deliver actionable insights for decision-making. System Reliability : Oversee application performance, issue resolution, updates, and maintenance. SQL & Integration : Maintain central SQL databases and ensure seamless integration across digital tools and platforms. User Empowerment : Lead training and engagement to boost digital adoption and confidence across teams. Tech Planning & Investment : Support budgeting and planning for future-ready, cost-effective digital solutions. Cybersecurity : Embed data protection and cybersecurity best practices across all systems and workflows. Documentation : Produce clear, up-to-date documentation for all systems, processes, and enhancements. Digital Advisory : Provide expert guidance on system use and promote innovation across the organisation. e-Learning & Innovation : Collaborate on projects exploring VLEs, digital pedagogy, and AI-driven learning tools. Essential Qualifications: Educated to degree level or equivalent, or significant and relevant experience in IT Technologies. Essential Experience: Experience managing applications, systems, or databases that support the curation and management of critical information, preferably within an education setting. Proven track record in managing system and process changes effectively. Skilled at collaborating within cross-organisational teams, working closely with end-users, technical staff, professional teams, and senior management. Hands-on experience with the technical administration of platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Power BI, Salesforce CRM, SharePoint Online, ProMonitor, Tribal EBS, Moodle, and Google Classroom. Demonstrated expertise in managing enterprise business systems such as LMS, Salesforce, HR platforms, Power BI, SQL databases, and online learning environments. Skilled in data governance, reporting, and analytics, with a strong ability to translate both business and academic requirements into effective technical solutions. Proven ability to lead and manage a team of business systems developers, while providing proactive support to the wider ILT team as needed.
