Job Description

Millmead Optical Group, a leading name in the UK optical industry with over 70 years of heritage, is looking for a motivated and tech-savvy individual to join our team as an IT Apprentice . This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in IT while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic business that blends tradition with innovation. As an IT Apprentice, you'll work closely with our experienced IT team to support internal systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and help drive digital improvements across the company. You'll also be enrolled in a structured apprenticeship programme to develop your technical knowledge and skillsall while earning as you learn. In this role, youll work towards yourLevel 3 IT Support Apprenticeship,delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. A Typical Day in the Job: Provide 1st Line Helpdesk support to end users Troubleshoot basic IT issues and escalate more complex problems when necessary Perform password resets and manage user access requests Log, manage, and resolve support tickets efficiently Use remote access tools to assist users with technical issues Deliver excellent customer service while resolving 1st line technical queries Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team. Salary, Hours & Benefits: £16,500 - £17,500 per annum Monday to Friday 9am 5pm 24 days holidays plus bank holidays Company pension scheme (NEST) Free staff car parking onsite Long service award scheme Annual Christmas event Discounted eyewear Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge: Grade 4 in Maths and 5 in English is essential for this role Confident person Good time keeper Keen to progress in a career in IT Willingness to learn Your Training with Baltic: This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualification and experience you need to immerse yourself within an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective IT Support Technician.
