Plant Engineer

Plant Engineer Location: Dundonald International Ice Bowl (with potential work at Lough Moss Leisure Centre and Castlereagh Hills Golf Course) Pay: £16.37 per hour Hours: 37 per week (5 out of 7 days, shift patterns between 7am11pm) Role Overview Support the Plant Manager in maintaining and operating mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems across multiple leisure facilities. Ensure the effective functioning of specialist equipment including the ice rink and bowling alley, while conducting regular checks, servicing, and repairs. Key Responsibilities Perform planned and emergency maintenance on key plant and building systems Maintain plumbing, ventilation, and electrical infrastructure Monitor and record safety checks (e.g. Legionella, brine, ammonia systems) Supervise junior staff and contractors, ensuring full health & safety compliance Manage parts inventory and assist with installations Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities Take responsibility for plant operations during evenings and weekends Requirements Essential: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering (or 5 years relevant experience) At least 3 years post-apprenticeship experience in maintenance roles Experience in at least two of the following areas: Air handling units Bowling alley systems Electrical or plumbing installations Chilled water systems Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends Proud to be Northern Irelands first Living Wage-accredited recruitment agency
