Job Description
Qualifications and Skills: Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: Grade 12 certificate National Diplomas in Safety Management Additional Certificates in Occupational Health and Safety Management (NQF 5) Compulsory registration with SACPCMP as a Safety Officer or any higher registration designation. Registration with SAIOSH or IOSH will be beneficial. 3-5 years experience as a Health and Safety Officer specifically in the construction setting Officer specifically in the construction setting. Experience with Contractor Management 37 (2) Agreements and Auditing is essential. Excellent Computer Literacy Skills: MS Office (especially Outlook, Word & Excel). Work independently and in a Team. Valid Unendorsed Code 08 driver's license. Fit for duty - Occupational Medical certificate. Responsibilities: Ensure compliance of the project with relevant OHS and Construction Regulations Continuously develop, implement, and improve the H&S plans, programmes, and procedures in the workplace. (Emergency procedures, firefighting, and first aid) Conducting incident investigations and unsafe working conditions, identifying possible causes, and recommending and implementing corrective action. Oversee the maintenance of all OHS records. Assist in the preparation of project-specific health and safety documentation for distribution to contractors for inclusion into their tender submissions Make sure that personal protective equipment is being used in the workplace according to regulations
