Project Manager Sales

SMS group S.p.A. is part of the German SMS group, a leading global company in plant and machinery manufacturing for the steelmaking and non-ferrous industry, with approximately 14,400 employees worldwide. Based in Italy, SMS group S.p.A. employs over 500 staff across Tarcento (Udine), San Donato Milanese (Milan), and Genoa. The company specializes in producing innovative, turnkey plants, including hot and cold rolling mills for flat products, process lines, reheating furnaces, heat treatment lines, rolling mills for long products, meltshops, and continuous casting machines. We are seeking to fill the position of Project Manager Sales SIE HANDELN . Represent SMS group in dealings with customers and coordinate internal project relationships; Conduct regular project discussions and negotiations with clients and consortium partners, documenting outcomes; Lead and document core team meetings; Hold overall sales project authority, acting as an "entrepreneur inside the company"; Understand project baselines, including goals, requirements, and bid budgets; Develop project strategies (Winning Strategy) in collaboration with the Core Sales Team and Project Owner Sales; Manage the Core Sales Team; Authorize project budget allocations (Bid Budget) up to the next stage; Implement target costing based on project financials; Negotiate as the official contact with customers and contract partners, handling technical and commercial communications until contract signing; Convene necessary meetings, including risk assessments; Adhere to travel guidelines and obtain necessary approvals; Request and manage all project-related data and information; Possess project-related power of attorney for contract negotiations, legally binding only when signed by authorized representatives. Required Skills and Qualifications Graduate or Bachelor/Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Minimum 3-4 years of experience in technical sales within complex plant manufacturing companies; Proven ability to analyze complex customer requests and prepare technical offers; Strong commercial skills to identify competitive solutions and manufacturing strategies; Good knowledge of mechanical technical drawings; basic understanding of media systems, electrical, and automation packages; Coordination skills for managing proposal teams; Willingness to travel worldwide as required; Fluent in English; German is a plus; Proficient in Office suite (including Project) and basic SAP knowledge; Knowledge of drawing tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo) is a plus but not required.
