We’re looking for a visionary and strategic senior leader to head our Management Services Department at EFSA. If you have a track record of driving operational excellence, leading multicultural teams, and delivering impactful results in complex environments—this may be your opportunity to lead transformation at the heart of European food safety. What you’ll do: Lead and empower a team of ~140 professionals across five units (Legal, Finance, HR, IT, Corporate Services). Define and implement strategies, policies and services that ensure EFSA’s agility and operational excellence. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, contributing to high-level decisions and long-term resilience. Manage resources and shape performance management aligned with EU standards. Represent EFSA internally and externally at senior level, promoting trust and institutional alignment. What success looks like: Team and departmental performance aligned with EFSA’s Strategy 2027. Measurable improvements in administrative excellence and service delivery. Strong staff engagement, capability building and internal collaboration. What we’re looking for: 15 years of relevant professional experience , including 2 years in a senior managerial role . Experience in at least 2 of the following : finance, procurement, IT, HR, legal, or corporate control. Proven ability to lead in international or multicultural contexts. Strong understanding of EU institutional and regulatory frameworks . High-level behavioural competencies: strategic agility, stakeholder focus, resilience, and communication.
