Job Description
The role of a Social Media Video Content Creator at Canonical We're seeking an energetic and creative video content creator to join our social media team and develop our video program to enhance Canonical's visibility. Our social media channels serve as a bridge between our product creators and users, engaging audiences in the millions. We foster conversations around topics like opensource, K8s, launch previews, and more, connecting with developers, tech enthusiasts, and security engineers worldwide. In this role, you'll shape our video strategy for growth, with success measured by audience engagement and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and marketing, eager to learn, and skilled in problem-solving, experimentation, automation, and organization. Location : This position is based in the EMEA region within the communications team, reporting to the director of communications. Responsibilities include: Creating compelling video storylines from conception to delivery. Building an engaged community and enhancing brand presence through unique video content. Generating new video ideas for marketing initiatives in collaboration with team members. Optimizing video content for creativity and performance metrics. Researching and implementing scalable video solutions and tools. Producing engaging social media videos and reels that are on-brand. Editing videos to suit social media formats while capturing brand personality. Applying social media and SEO best practices to video content. Managing the entire video lifecycle effectively. Qualifications: A strong portfolio demonstrating video editing and social media skills. Proficiency with video editing software. Knowledge of social media best practices and platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Understanding of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) is a plus. Strong branding and conceptual skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Experience with project management tools like Jira is advantageous.
