No Offer Description The activity covered by this contract mainly consists of teaching and research activities, for a total of 1500 hours per year, on topics within the scope of the SSD MVET-04/B declaration, as foreseen for the role of RTD. The research activity will be carried out within the framework of areas 2 (Pathogenesis, diagnosis, surveillance and therapy of infections, including emerging infections) and 3 (Implementation of diagnostic, therapeutic and follow-up systems for non-communicable and/or aging-related diseases) of the "GENERAL TOPICS" intervention area of the major research and innovation areas scheme: "HEALTH," of the PNRR 2021-2027, with an integrated medical-veterinary One Health approach. The research priorities will concern the study of diseases of the urinary system of dogs and cats, with particular reference to acute and chronic infections and with special attention to forms caused by multi-resistant microorganisms and nosocomial infections. Environmental and individual risk factors will be evaluated, and diagnostic and preventive strategies aimed at counteracting them will be studied. To this end, the research activity will also be directed at the study of new biomarkers for the diagnosis of inflammation and for the early diagnosis of organ damage. The expected impact concerns the evaluation of the epidemiology of infections caused by organisms multi-resistant to antibiotic therapy in canine and feline patients and prevention strategies, also to reduce potential transmission to cohabiting owners and prevent diseases from a One Health perspective. Another aspect is the evaluation of the utility of serum and urinary biomarkers of inflammation and organ damage, potentially applicable also to non-communicable diseases and as possible pathogenetic models for humans. Teaching may include lectures, tutorials, support in any other forms of student instruction, grading and evaluation of papers and evaluation of final exams, on the subjects and topics covered by the contract. Teaching for up to 120 hours is required, according to university regulations.
