With a turnover exceeding £20 million and a team of over 200 employees, our products are enjoyed in more than 500 stores across Northern Ireland and by some of the UKs most prestigious retailers. About the Role As an integral part of our Finance team, you will report directly to the Management Accountant and provide essential accounting and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes. Closing Date: 15th July 2025 at 5:00 PM Key Responsibilities: - The successful candidate will work as part of the finance team to ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department. You will support the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions to include: Key Duties Managing credit control processes to ensure timely customer payments. Handling customer invoicing queries and processing debit notes. Entering and processing purchase invoices accurately. Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies. Performing bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. Raising and managing accounts payable queries with suppliers. Compiling accruals and prepayments reports and posting them to the accounting system. Preparing weekly and monthly journal entries for accounts receivable and payable Support Responsibilities Collaborating with the Management Accountant on cost reduction strategies. Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures within the Finance Department. Providing financial support to various business departments as needed. Performing ad hoc duties to support the wider Finance function Health and Safety Safety starts with you - you must take care of your own health and safety and others who might be affected by your activities. Use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) as per training and properly care for, clean, maintain, and inspect PPE as required, reporting any defects immediately. Challenge unsafe behavior in a timely way. Regularly inspect work area to ensure a safe working environment and behaviors. Promote and encourage reporting of hazards and near misses. Participate in all health and safety training and assist in the development and training of safe operating procedures and risk assessments. Implement and monitor adherence to safe operating procedures and risk assessments. Consult HS&E Manager on any identified risks and agree and implement control measures. Other Duties Always adhere to the Ethical Trading Initiative Base code. Quality Participate in audits e.g. Environmental, SEDEX as required. You must take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do). Complete any other associated task requested by the Management. Personal Attributes We are seeking a motivated individual with at least 12 months of experience in a finance-based role to cover a period of maternity leave. However, we will also consider applicants who are currently working towards a relevant qualification, such as Accounting Technician or equivalent. The ideal candidate will: Consistently demonstrate a professional and confidential approach when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders. Be self-motivated with strong communication skills across all levels of the business. Be a team player who shows a high level of commitment and a flexible, proactive attitude. Personnel Specification Skills and Knowledge Essential 12 months experience in a similar role or working to achieve a relevant qualification Proficient MS Word and Excel user Ability to work in a team environment Effective verbal and written communication skills Excellent planning and organising skills Desirable Previous experience in an accounts role in a manufacturing or FMCG environment Advanced MS Excel user Qualifications / Education Essential GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above Desirable A-Level Maths Accounting Technicians qualification
