Jacobs is searching for a dynamic Asset Management Engineer/Planner Scheduler to join our team in El Segundo, CA. In this role, you'll direct and lead all activities related to the management of equipment and infrastructure at WBMWD recycled water treatment facilities, to assure successful execution of the asset management program, using a variety of tools which includes a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other methodologies including, but not limited to, Asset Condition Assessment, Criticality Review and Risk Based Optimization. In this role, you'll ultimately ensure the organization maintains a pro-active and global approach to asset management program, defining and implementing optimized maintenance activities, asset replacement programs, prediction of equipment performance and potential equipment failure. You'll also be the main point of contact with the Client on all matters related to asset management and be responsible for effective delivery of the program services to other departments, driving the successful implementation and coordinating with WBMWD on the maintenance of systems. Principal Areas of Responsibility - Define and apply asset management best practices to maximize equipment life cycle and drive operating cost reduction - Assist the Maintenance department in adopting proactive maintenance and work planning strategies - Facilitate workshops to maintain and update asset criticality analyses and condition assessments - Develop and maintain workflow, policies and procedures associated with the use of the CMMS - Develop and lead the Risk Based Optimization initiative, aimed to keep the preventive maintenance program up to date - Review and recommend new technologies aimed at improving equipment life cycle - Defines and analyzes KPIs and maintenance metrics to issue recommendations which drive efficiencies and improve utilization rate - Strategize and consult with other departments to define equipment replacement strategy - Deliver CMMS training to staff and organizations and ensuring guidelines for its proper utilization are well defined - Drive the adoption of the updated version of the CMMS and lead the effort to ensure full adherence to policies and procedures - Coordinate with key staff to ensure alignment, buy-out and timely delivery on expected deliverables - Participate to cross functional teams aimed at improving O&M performance - Serve as lead coordinator of CMMS data collection and QA/QC works - Maintain and update all current O&M workflows to ensure process optimization - Develop condition assessment standards, methods and tools - Develop task-based standards (resources, parts allocation) - Develop processes to ensure optimized spare part management - Ensure operational priorities are properly defined and understood and reflected in the CMMS - Develop asset data collection, data entry standards and protocols - Develop an effective asset hierarchy that aligns with the unique context of operations - Conduct inspections of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment - Other duties may be assigned Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we'll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world's most challenging Operations Management projects, together. ourjacobs bia omfs challengeaccepted - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering required - At least five (5) years experience in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities, or water utility, or related field, coordinating engineering projects - Two (2) years experience in asset management systems and understanding of asset management and maintenance practices - Ability to use data and technical knowledge to forecast equipment life cycle and provide a proactive approach to maintenance - Must possess superior organizational skills and the ability to prioritize while managing several projects at a time - Detailed knowledge of the principals concepts and operation aspects of water and/or wastewater treatment processes - Knowledge of related equipment used in the water and/or wastewater industry, including but not limited to clarification, solids handling, microfiltration and reverse osmosis equipment - Willing to work additional time to meet project demands or deliverables including non-business hours and weekends - Ability to operate and manage manual and computerized information systems - Strong desire and passion to implement and create best practice asset management - Strong knowledge of MS Office software required - Thorough understanding of environmental chemistry, microbiology, operations, hydraulics, budgets, sludge handling and utilization - Valid CA Driver's License with no major infractions required Ideally, You'll Also Have - Wastewater or Water Treatment Certification, Grade 2 / T2 or higher preferred - Six (6) years experience in engineering preferred - Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, and with the client as needed verbally and in written format - High level written and verbal communication and presentation skills that result in effective and appropriate communication with a broad range of people Working Conditions & Physical Requirements The work area can involve a working environment indoors, as well as outdoors, which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals. Safety is of the utmost importance. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination when preparing reports and using a computer keyboard, have vision sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents and operate office equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour time period must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
