Position : Test Technician Sector : Renewable energy systems, sustainability, decarbonisation, automotive, batteries Location : Warwickshire, West Midlands, Coventry Salary : £35,000 - £42,000 Hybrid : No, this is an onsite position Visa Support : No. You MUST already have the right to live and work in the UK. Suitable for new Graduate / Masters : No, you MUST be able to demonstrate at least 12 months professional experience in a similar test biased role The Role : Preparing, operating, and maintaining test equipment, fixtures, environmental chambers etc Ensuring that materials and components are installed into test equipment as required by company policy and health & safety protocols Supporting the safe execution of customer-specific tests Perform routine tests eg performance, cycles, swelling etc Monitor test equipment and software during operation to ensure proper cycling and data logging. Ensure that any faults are identified quickly Provide data for review by engineers or customers Maintain data logs ensuring accuracy of information Support the calibration and maintenance of test equipment and lab infrastructure. Maintain lab cleanliness and ensure tools, cables, and fixtures are in proper working condition. Manage inventory of test consumables such as connectors, labels, insulators, and PPE. Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements Maintain customer confidentiality at all times About You : Qualified to HNC level or higher in an engineering subject (mechanical, electrical, automotive) Experience in an engineering environment, ideally working in testing & development Familiarity with industry standard battery testing equipment (e.g., Keysight) Basic understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, and data acquisition Experience in a lab environment or test facility with structured safety procedures Familiarity with test scripting tools or ability to follow detailed engineering instructions Knowledge of test documentation standards and basic data recording/reporting Strong attention to detail and methodical approach. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO, SAE and UN guidelines.
