Your role and responsibilities You will join our Digital Offering Team and be part of the Process Automation business area for Energy Industries - Digital Division. The division integrates automation, electrification, instrumentation, and telecom to enable customers’ business transformation in a converging IT/OT environment. The priority is to help customers embrace digitalization securely with solutions that facilitate data access, visualization, and understanding. The candidate will be part of the Digital Offering Team of the Local Division, interfacing mainly with ABB Sales, SCM Purchase, Engineering departments, and customers. ABB digital solutions cover pillars such as Sustainability, Cyber Security, Performance Monitoring, Predictive Diagnostics, and Digital Twin, often proposed as extensions of ABB Control systems. Key responsibilities include: Preparing technical proposals and cost calculations for digital solutions based on customer requirements, with SME support. Supporting SCM in analyzing supplier proposals. Collecting information from Sales regarding installed base/site details from ABB Technical Account Managers. Analyzing customer needs and competitor offerings using market data and sales inputs. Conducting lost proposal analysis, identifying causes, and recommending future actions in collaboration with Sales/Local Business Units. Qualifications for the role Strong knowledge of process control systems and automation (PLC, DCS, ESD) in power, water, and oil & refining industries. At least 2 years’ experience as proposal or support sales engineer, preparing technical specifications and pricing. Enhanced understanding of Cyber Security Standards (e.g., IEC 62443) and electrical standards required by major customers. Passion for data analysis and developing digital solutions to meet customer needs, reduce costs, and increase revenues. Knowledge of ABB’s digital portfolio (Cyber Security, Asset Performance Management, Sustainability, etc.) is a plus. Fluent in English and Italian; additional languages (French, Spanish, German) are advantageous. What’s in it for you? Supportive, solution-driven team environment.
