Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience preferred License: Registered Nurse (Single State or Multi-state Compact) Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Associate's Degree in nursing or graduation from an accredited/approved school of nursing Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. Nursing practice is administered by Nurse Managers and supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the applicable professional nursing regulations. They are expected to implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards established by the relevant nursing association. As a crucial member of the patient services team, they uphold the voice of the patient and support service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Performs the Nursing Process, including assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation in clinical care. Uses evidence-based practice and analytical/critical thinking to ensure individualized care. Provides relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics in a culturally diverse manner. Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose. Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration while promoting recruitment and retention of healthcare team members. Participates in performance improvement activities and supports shared governance. Professional Development and Initiative: Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education. Serves as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and students in all disciplines. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Participates in data collection and consults appropriate experts to address practice questions. Resources and Support: Plans for the care of patients across the care continuum while giving direct patient care. Participates in the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with other healthcare team members. Supports efficient use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all organizational policies and standards of conduct.
