Registration Access Specialist

Interviews patients to obtain accurate and complete patient demographic and insurance information in order to complete the admission and registration of all patients Communicates with self pay patients about charges and assists patient with payment arrangements Collects appropriate forms as required by Medicare, Medicaid insurance companies and or other agencies EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school graduation or equivalent is required. Six (6) months experience in a hospital/physician setting, obtaining insurance benefits and pre-certification is preferred Prior collection experience is preferred. Billing experience and contract knowledge is preferred. One year of experience in a similar occupation and basic medical terminology and ICD 9 coding experience is preferred.
