Other companies in our group include Acerinox Europe, North American Stainless, Columbus Stainless, Roldan, Inoxfil and Haynes Intl. VDM Metals Canada Ltd. is a Sales office in Vaughan, Ontario. The Opportunity: Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for the day-to-day sales activities of VDM Metals Canada Ltd. This KAM is responsible for maintaining and growing existing business along with looking for new customer in exciting emerging applications. The role is a hybrid between VDM Metals Canada office, home office and customer visits. It is a true sales role where the successful candidate will manage their market and be responsible for all requirements of the sales process. Main responsibilities and major duties: Inside Sales (60%) · Work with production in Germany for quotations. Quote the customer and follow up with the customer · Work with production in the USA for quotations. Quote the customer and follow up with the customer · Look for new opportunities where nickel based alloys are required · Promote VDM Metals alloys with Engineering firms and end users where they have requirements for high temperature and corrosive applications. · Work within our Customer Resource Management tool (CRM) to ensure accurate customer data management Administration (20%) · Export Control is very important to VDM Metals, ensure all customers are compliant and that VDM Metals is compliant · Sales reporting and budgeting · Data and Customer management on our CRM Outside Sales (20%) · Manage the sales activities from an outside sales perspective · Visit customers as required for promotion of VDM · Look for new opportunities where nickel based alloys are required · Input call notes into the CRM · Attend trade shows and industry events to promote our products · Network with customers Qualifications: · Minimum of 5 or more years of sales experience. Preferably in metal sales and ideally in specialty alloys · Understanding of metals and specifically metallurgy · Understanding of metal manufacturing and fabrication · University degree or college diploma Skills and abilities in the areas of: · Strong understanding of the sales process · Customer service, face to face communication, written and over the phone · Strong analytical and data skills, including data segmentation techniques · Strong attention to detail while producing and working at a fast pace. · Ability to recognize priorities and multi-task · Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships; demonstrable success working effectively on cross-functional teams · Hands on experience with a Customer Resource Management Tool (CRM) · Strong computer skills · Ability to work professionally and productively with little supervision · Demonstrate record of problem-solving and priority-setting in a fast paced, complex and evolving environment · Ability to exercise full discretion in dealing with confidential matters Additional attributes: · Bilingual – written and spoken would be an asset (German/French) · Self-motivated · Adaptable, responsible, and creative Working Conditions: · Travel within Canada as required. · T ravel to Germany and USA may be required (once a year) Compensation: Competitive salary, generous performance bonus and matched pension (RRSP) contributions.
