Inside Sales Representative Science & Engineering Sector Location: Based in office full-time during onboarding (first month), then hybrid 3 days office / 2 days home Salary: £27,000 £32,000 benefits Location: Leicestershire Are you a recent graduate in science or engineering, or someone with a passion for both technology and customer relationships? Alignment Search and Selection is working exclusively with a leading international business in the scientific instrumentation space, looking to bring on a proactive and confident Inside Sales Representative to support their growing Environmental Sales Team across the EMEA region. This role is ideal for someone with a technical background and a strong commercial mindset someone who enjoys solving problems, working with customers, and supporting sales activities that truly make a difference in the world. Play a critical role in keeping the sales process smooth, efficient, and customer-focused. Key Responsibilities: Act as the key coordination point between internal teams (production, logistics, finance, client services) to ensure seamless order processing and customer communication. Respond to inbound customer enquiries and prepare accurate quotations. Support the wider sales team with CRM/ERP management and sales reporting. Build long-term relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for repeat or upsell business. Provide logistical support for events, workshops, and customer meetings. Ensure documentation and processes are consistently professional and accurate. Assist in solving customer issues to support their ongoing success. What Were Looking For: Essential: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset. Confidence in speaking with customers and internal stakeholders. Strong organisational and time management skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and CRM/ERP platforms. A keen interest in scientific, environmental, or engineering-led industries. Desirable: A degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, or related fields. Prior experience in technical sales, customer support, or commercial coordination roles. Additional European language skills (e.g. French, German, Spanish) would be a plus. Important Note on Working Pattern: This role requires full-time, on-site office attendance for the first month during the onboarding and training period. After that, the role will transition to a hybrid model, working 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home .
