Training Manager Location: PO12 2DL , located in Alverstoke, with free onsite parking . Our shared purpose is to keep the nation safe. Could this be the opportunity for you to play your part? AWE is currently recruiting for a Training Manager for Defence Radiation Protection Services. As a DRPS Training Manager you will coordinate and lead the analysis of DRPS training needs to ensure the provision of competent staff to meet current and future programme needs. Manage the provision of training required by our customers in accordance with their Statements of Requirement (SOR) and/or large programmes/projects and develop, deliver and evaluate technical training interventions. Key Accountabilities: Accountable to the DRPS Group Leader for leading the Strategic plan for DRPS training capability. Leadership of direct reports to successfully plan and deliver training to time, cost, and quality. Develop in-depth understanding of the evolving competence / skill / learning requirements driven by the current and future programme needs in the allocated business area and/or for large programmes/ projects. Manage the effective delivery of specialist technical training within business area. Coordinate resources and assets to ensure the timely development and delivery of required training. Undertake training needs analysis in line with company procedure. Design, develop and where required, deliver training courses and programmes in line with company procedures. Report on the training and competence levels of employees, and work with resource providers to ensure staff with the right skill base / aptitudes enter our training programmes. Work closely with relevant SME and other relevant stakeholders to identify and utilise common training activities and ensure compliance with relevant Legislation, company standards, procedures and governance. Establish and report upon metrics including KPI's that measure the performance and success of ongoing training programs. Identify points of improvement and develop solutions that improve the effectiveness of training programs. Provide assessment capability to enable Continuous Professional Development of staff to external bodies and develop competence. Key Responsibilities: Managing the Strategic plan for DRPS training capability. Provide adequate supervision of the activities within their scope of responsibility. Responsible for the deliverables of the training programme within the business area. Create training and development plans that address programme needs and expectations. Deploy a wide variety of training methods as determined by training needs analysis. Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions as required. Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, success and ROI. Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary. Maintain a keen understanding and awareness of company training procedures, training developments and best practices. Maintain close links with relevant SME to ensure training complies with Radiation Protection and other legislation. The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs. Who are we looking for? We do need you to have the following: NVQ/ONC/HNC in relevant subject or equivalent experience. Defence Train the trainer (DTTLS/PTTLS/PGCE) or similar course. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Problem Solving. Excellent Presentation skills. Proficient in basic IT programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.). Strong time management and organisational skills. Experience of working as a trainer/assessor. Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following : In depth knowledge of JSP822 (Defence Direction and Guidance for Training and Education). Defence Training Supervisor qualified or prepared to undertake course. Professional Qualification from CIPD or another relevant professional body. Experience of working MOD or other defence body. Experience of working or training in ESH and or Radiation Protection. You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload.
