Job Description

DRE– Brackets / Small Components Location: Toluca Estado de México About the Role: We are looking for a highly motivated Product Design Engineer (DRE) to join our Propulsion Systems team, specifically focused on Brackets and Small Components within engine and electrified powertrain systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, validation, release, and continuous improvement of mechanical components across assigned vehicle programs. Key Responsibilities: Design, validate, test, and release brackets and small components for assigned vehicle families. Investigate and resolve component failures; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions. Develop cost-saving proposals through part redesign or material changes. Create and manage engineering change documentation (Change Notices). Lead and approve test requests and validation plans (DVP&R). Authorize functional and durability tests at assembly plants before production deployment. Issue interim approvals for pre-validation component use. Lead failure analysis processes (e.g., E-CIMS, Customer Problem Resolution, Quality Alerts). Coordinate part development with suppliers based on "Source Package" requirements. Provide engineering support to manufacturing and assembly plants. Use 2D/3D CAD tools (NX) to design and modify parts. Participate in and support DFMEAs, PFMEAs, pilot builds, and pre-series events. Standardize and benchmark components based on cost, performance, and weight. Review and approve documentation for temporary part substitutions. Request and coordinate prototype part manufacturing. Ensure proper implementation of product updates, service bulletins, and BOM changes. Verify manufacturing processes prior to production launch. Component Design Focus: Brackets for electronic modules. Mounting and accessory components for internal combustion engines (ICE), electric motors, and power electronics. Internal and peripheral components of ICEs and electric propulsion systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering. 0-2 years of experience in the automotive industry as a Product or Development Engineer. (Internships and academic projects like Baja SAE / Formula SAE are a strong plus considered. Proficiency in CAD software: Siemens NX and/or CATIA. Solid understanding of vehicle systems, assembly processes, and validation methods. Foundational knowledge of thermodynamics, ICE/electric systems, and statistics. Proactive, analytical, team-oriented, with a structured and disciplined work approach.
