Job Summary AEC is seeking experienced electricians to join our internal construction delivery team. This team is responsible for the construction, renovation, and improvement projects across campus. Benefits include: * Generous time off, including family care, maternity and paternal leaves * A retirement plan that provides two-for-one matching contributions with immediate vesting * Many choices for comprehensive health insurance * Life insurance * Long-term disability coverage * Flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses Responsibilities* * Read and interpret construction drawings, diagrams, sketches, circuit diagrams and technical specifications. * Survey jobsites to assess work scope, prepare material take-offs and estimates for electrical jobs. * Perform routine and complex electrical work including the installation of electrical raceway, wiring, fixtures, and equipment. * Fabricate and install control and distribution apparatus including switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels. * Cut, thread, bind and route conduit and pull wire. * Test continuity of electrical circuits in installed or repaired equipment using electrical measuring instruments. * Analyze malfunctions of electrical equipment using ammeter, volt-meter, ohmmeter drawings and visual inspections. * Cut or bore through walls, ceilings or partitions. * Use of power and hand tools. Frequent lifting and bending required with the execution of daily work duties. * Ensure electrical installations meet appropriate codes and university and industry standards. * Comply with applicable safety standards. Required Qualifications* * Ability to perform all duties listed in responsibilities above. * Graduation from high school or equivalent and specialized training in electrical work. * State of Michigan Journeyman or Master's Electrical license. * Ability to work proficiently, accurately and to make and keep schedule commitments. * Considerable knowledge of the equipment, methods and materials involved in electrical work. * Reasonable manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work from ladders and scaffolding. * Reasonable computer skills; must be able to use a computer tablet & desktop for such tasks as time entry, work assignments, email, reporting on job status and others. * Ability to exercise tact and discretion in relationships with others. * Ability to work well within a teamwork environment. * Service
