Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and knowledge transfer. - THE ROLE - To support the Universitys strategic and operational planning through creation, development, maintenance and continual improvement, optimisation of high-quality and holistic informational resources (spanning systems, BI resources and associated business processes) to support decision-making across the institution, statutory submissions as well as other analytical and forward-planning functions. This exciting new post offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join a specialist team of functional and technical experts and the chance to work alongside Programmer/Developers, BI Engineers and Data Analysts to: i) develop informational resources; ii) enhance BI solutions and; iii) provide analysis and insight. This team also has a lead role in the implementation of HESA Data Futures, a project that represents a complete reimagining of the data landscape for Higher Education and offers the unique opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to a sector-wide transformational change project. The successful candidate will be a highly organised and motivated team player who enjoys working on varied projects, to tight deadlines, with a wide range of stakeholders; they should have excellent personal and interpersonal skills plus sufficient technical knowledge to work in this IT-heavy setting. - ABOUT YOU - - A degree with substantial computing or quantitative content or a degree in any subject and a postgraduate qualification with substantial computing or quantitative content. - Experience of operating a large-scale computerised records system, to include a working knowledge of SQL and the development of datasets and data structures as well as the input, maintenance and validation of data. - Evidence of a good standard of computer literacy in a range of MS365 applications incl. Excel, PowerBI, Teams (incl. Planner/Project). - Willingness and ability to travel to meet the needs of the role.
