Deputy Head of Finance

Deputy Head of Finance (Interim – 1 Year) Hybrid 3 days (with travel to HQ near London – 2 days) Monday to Friday 37.5 hours £57,000 per annum | 30 days holiday 8 bank holidays Full-time | Fixed-term (12 months) Our client is seeking a proactive Deputy Head of Finance for a one-year interim role. You’ll lead payroll, support financial reporting, manage cash flow, and supervise a small finance team. Key Responsibilities Oversee monthly payroll and liaise with external providers. Draft management accounts (P&L, balance sheet). Maintain cash flow forecasts and assist with year-end accounts. Line-manage Finance Officer and Assistant. Drive improvements in systems and controls. Qualifications Strong literacy/numeracy; degree desirable. Qualified or part-qualified (ACMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent). Payroll qualification (desirable). Experience Hands-on payroll experience in complex environments. Knowledge of Cascade/IRIS and Sage Intacct. Advanced Excel skills. Collaboration with HR and multi-site teams. Staff/volunteer management experience Skills Strong leadership and communication. Analytical, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure. Confidential, flexible, and deadline-driven.
