Candidates are encouraged to apply who perform research that complements existing department focus areas in neuropharmacology, gut microbiota-brain interactions, neurodevelopment, nanomedicine, drug delivery, neurodegeneration, neural repair, neuropsychiatric diseases, ocular pharmacology, neural control of cardiovascular function, and exosome biology. Successful candidates will be provided with a strong start-up package, modern laboratory space, a competitive salary, and a comprehensive health and retirement benefit structure. New MPN faculty will be expected to develop an extramurally funded research program and contribute to the graduate education mission of the MPN department. Required Qualifications The tenure-track faculty position in the MPN department requires a PhD in Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Research, or a related subject area. A minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience; a strong publication record; demonstrated excellence in teaching; outstanding leadership skills. Desired Qualifications It is anticipated that candidates at the Assistant Professor level will develop a research program that obtains federal or private funding, while Associate and Full professor applicants will already hold active R01 (or equivalent) level funding.
