Mechanical Engineering Intern - FTC 12 months

Purpose: Support the Mechanical Engineer and Technician with engineering tasks, project coordination, and technical documentation. Gain hands-on experience in mechanical systems, design processes, and site-based project work. Key Responsibilities: Assist with mechanical design, including drafting, drawing revisions, and basic calculations. Help prepare technical documents, reports, and project files. Participate in supervised site visits and inspections. Collect data and assist with condition assessments of equipment. Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for small project tasks. Keep engineering records and documents organised. Provide general support to the engineering team. Requirements: Enrolled in or recently completed a National Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. Basic understanding of mechanical systems and engineering concepts. Skilled in MS Office and basic CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks). Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to work in an industrial or manufacturing setting. A valid driver’s license is a plus. Attributes: Eager to learn and apply technical knowledge. Detail-oriented and well-organised. Proactive and able to follow instructions.
