Job Description
Minimum requirements: Grade 12 5 years experience in property/facilities/maintenance management. Retail or commercial property knowledge is advantageous. Proven experience in managing teams and contractors . Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Competency in basic repair work and general maintenance . Knowledge of budget control, procurement, and compliance standards. Computer literacy (MS Office; property software beneficial). Duties: Oversee general building maintenance, safety, and compliance. Supervise a team of 3 on-site maintenance workers and ensure task allocation and productivity. Be a DIY-type person someone who is capable and comfortable with small hands-on tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, basic repairs, identifying technical issues). Manage and monitor external service providers (e.g., cleaning, security, and contractors) Plan and execute small to medium-scale projects, including refurbishments and facility upgrades. Maintain compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Conduct regular property inspections and develop preventative maintenance schedules. Manage budgets related to maintenance, repairs, and projects. Procure materials, equipment, and services in a cost-effective manner. Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants and internal stakeholders. Ensure that all work is completed to high quality, on time, and within budget.
