Assistant Mechanic

We are recruiting on behalf of a client seeking a motivated Assistant Mechanic to support Lead Mechanics in maintaining and repairing a diverse automotive fleet, including trucks and light delivery vehicles. This role offers hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair within a busy manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have: A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent At least 3 years experience assisting with repairs and maintenance on trucks and LDVs A minimum of 1 years experience working in a manufacturing plant environment Practical skills in changing oils, tyres, belts, hoses, and performing vehicle inspections Basic diagnostic abilities in heating, air conditioning, hydraulic, and electrical systems (12-24 Volt) A strong commitment to safety, housekeeping, and SHERQ principles Assisting with engine repairs Conducting inspections and servicing Troubleshooting faults Maintaining stock materials Supporting the Foreman with ad hoc tasks EE Disclaimer: All positions will be filled in accordance with the company's Employment Equity plan.
