Diesel Mechanic

Dedicated artisan with experience and knowledge around diesel powered equipment. Taks and Responsibilities: Repairing and replacing engines and transmissions. Replacing and reparing braking systems. Performing prevantative maintenance on trucks and side tipper trailers. Ensuring all scheduled maintanance is performed correctly and in a timely manner. Analysing diagnostic test results accurately. Diagnosing and repairing of various diesel engine problems. Preparing and updating records on job cards and work carried out via the communication channels. Equipment calibration and maintenance. Ensuring that the workshop area is always in a good dtate. Education: Grade 12. Red Seal - Non Negotiable. Experience and Skils Between 5 and 10 years experience in the same or a similar role. Advanced knowledge of diesel engines. (Scania/FAW/Sitrak will be advantageous). Valid Drivers License and PDP. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly developed attention to detail. Safety regulations knowledge. Transport industry skills will be advantageous.
