Job Description

Job Responsibilities: Assist clinicians with physical examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and coordinate healthcare needs of patients. Counsel and educate patients on topics such as diet, prenatal and postpartum care, personal hygiene, acute or chronic illnesses, wellness and preventive health measures, normal development, family planning, and immunizations. Utilize automated programs and information technology to enhance communication and manage patient care effectively. Act as a patient advocate by facilitating communication between patients and healthcare departments. Identify new clinical requirements and implement necessary changes and adaptations. Participate in and/or manage quality improvement activities within the clinic. Coordinate schedules with team members to ensure adequate patient access to care. Requirements: Pre-placement medical examination and immunization screening, including Hepatitis B for positions with direct patient contact. Must meet credentialing requirements and obtain relevant clinical privileges. Background investigation and periodic re-verification are required due to interaction with minors. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification for Selective Service Registration. Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required. Two-year trial or probationary period may be required. Must agree to seasonal influenza vaccinations or have a recognized exemption. Ability to obtain and maintain BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association. Qualifications: Open to US Citizens. Must have a graduate or higher level degree from an accredited nursing program. Foreign graduates need certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools. Must have passed the NCLEX and hold an active, unrestricted nursing license. Additional qualification requirements include possession of a master's degree in nursing or at least one year of professional nursing experience at the GS-7 level or higher. Additional Information: Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Career Program (CP) 53 - Medical position. Overseas positions may have limited access to medical and educational services, and treatment facilities are on a space-available basis. J-18808-Ljbffr
