ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Open to South Africans and foreign nationals for full-time research at the University of Fort Hare. Preference is given to South African citizens and permanent residents Young and emerging scholars Graduated with a PhD degree in a relevant discipline within the last five years Successful applicants may not hold full-time salaried employment during the fellowship Successful applicants must be able to relocate to the UFH for the duration of the fellowship. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO : Conduct innovative research in mathematics education on efficacy and democratic citizenship in relation to the teaching and learning practices of mathematics in South African schools. Author/co-author at least 2 units per year in the form of DHET accredited scholarly journal articles or books/chapters in books. The successful candidate will be required to conduct innovative research and obtain evidenced-based empirical data on efficacy and democratic citizenship in relation to the teaching and learning practices of mathematics in South African schools. The postdoctoral research fellow shall reside in Alice to access facilities at UFH Alice Campus and participate in relevant activities of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
