Automotive Logistics Manager - OEM Level - Bryanston

Duties: Selecting carriers and negotiating contracts and rates Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries Handling release of vehicles from port to storage facility Supervising logistics and transportation of vehicles from the storage facility to dealerships Organizing process shipments for the vehicles Requesting Manufacturer certificates & certifying the certificates Liaising with the Freight Company to ensure that vehicles reach the PDI dealership timeously Responding to any issues or complaints Researching ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers Working with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations Evaluating budgets and expenditures Updating and evaluating metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements Ensuring all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements Any ad hoc requirements requested from Senior Management Skills: In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management software Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills Customer focussed Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills Project management skills Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost, production schedules and customer order fulfilment Excellent attention to detail skills Requirements: 5 10 years proven work experience in the logistics industry, as a Logistics Manager Automotive Industry experience is highly beneficial Experience in both Import and Export operations ESSENTIAL Post graduate logistics / supply chain / relevant field qualification required Valid drivers license Please note only candidates with the required experience will be contacted and considered.
