Senior Operations Manager

The Senior Manager Operations will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Project Execution Department in South Africa. In addition, the Senior Manager will be responsible for the building of strong commercial and technical relationships with clients and suppliers as well as facilitating commercial and technical processes. Will be required to give guidance with contractual matters, handle disputes etc. Responsibilities: Manage the activities of the Project Execution Department. Building relationships with Clients and suppliers. Facilitate the interface with technical and project departments at Head Office in Korea. Manage and advise on contractual matters and disputes. Facilitate the interfaces with clients project, technical and regional departments. Support South Africas Senior Management with operational inputs for meetings, reports and interfaces with Head Office and other organizations. Qualifications N.Dip/B.Tech/B.Sc degree, preferably in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and post grad qualification. Project Management qualification will be advantageous. Minimum Experience 10 years related experience in project execution in the energy sector (Sub-Saharan Africa) Competencies Basic understanding of power equipment, renewable energy, and turnkey projects Related energy project experience in utilities or private energy sector will be an advantage Good understanding of contract conditions and interpretation / implementation thereof Coordination of activities with internal/external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery Good understanding of project finance and commercial conditions with respect to project implementation and execution. Candidates who has relationships with utilities and various EPC & IPP companies in South Africa are preferred Basic document reporting skills and experienced in using MS Office programs and tools
