Landscape Construction Summer Help (College Student)

We are looking for students with interest or coursework in construction, landscape architecture, landscape design, horticulture, biology, forestry, or related fields. Help us install or care for award-winning landscapes in Dane County. Positions are available in landscape construction or landscape maintenance. There is an opportunity to return each summer while you’re in school, which can help you secure full-time employment upon graduation. Key benefits: $500 Sign-up Bonus Work on some of the largest and most prestigious projects in Dane County Weekly Pay Skill-building position Regular scheduled hours with overtime available Opportunities to grow your career in landscape construction include: Building patios and walls Grading and seeding lawns Planting trees and shrubs Installing and servicing irrigation systems Installing and maintaining waterfalls and ponds Essential Duties and Responsibilities (vary based on department/position): Install perennials, annual flowers, trees, shrubs, and mulches according to landscape plans Grade soil to proper elevations, install seed or sod as directed Water plant materials Prune trees and shrubs Operate power equipment specific to each task Mow turf, trim edges, and remove debris Apply weed control to keep landscape beds weed-free Use hand tools such as rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, brooms, etc. Install and maintain attractive landscapes Working Conditions: Work is performed outdoors Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license with a good driving record Coursework in horticulture, landscape architecture or design, biology, or related fields Specific Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old Reliable transportation required Ability to work Monday through Friday with Saturday availability as needed Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day The Bruce Company is an EEO/AA employer.
