Guidance Counselor / Teacher

CSF is seeking a Guidance Counselor/Teacher for Grades 7-12 who will play a dual role in supporting student success. This individual will provide academic guidance, personal and career counseling. As a key member of the staff, they will contribute to the academic integrity, student wellbeing, and continuous improvement of the school. Key Responsibilities Guidance Counseling • Provide academic and career guidance to students in Grades 7-12, supporting course selections, academic pathways, , graduation requirements, post-secondary applications and career planning. • Monitor student progress, identify students at risk, and develop intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers and parents. • Organise university and college visits, information sessions, and career exploration activities. Qualifications & Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Ontario or equivalent). • Ontario Guidance AQ, Part 1 (or equivalent certification in guidance counseling). • Proven experience in an educational setting, with a strong understanding of student support services. • In-depth knowledge of Growing Success: Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting in Ontario Schools and experience implementing assessment and reporting policies. • Strong ability to develop and support academic programs that foster student success. • Demonstrated experience with academic and career counseling in a secondary school setting. • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. • Experience working in an international school setting is an asset. • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple responsibilities with a student-centered approach.
