Advanced Social Worker - Family Safeguarding Team Salary: £46,399 - £49,588 per annum ( £6,000 Welcome Bonus, £5,000 Market Supplement and Relocation Allowance up to £8,000) Contract type: Permanent Working hours: 36 hours per week Location: Surrey (Various Locations) Contact: Emily Cooper - emily.cooper1@surreycc.gov.uk Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Advanced Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team across Surrey. In this exciting role, you will work with vulnerable young people and families, providing a vital service while working in a supportive and dynamic environment. We support hybrid working, with a minimum expectation of working in the office at least two days per week, and additional visits to clients as required. About the Family Safeguarding Team Our Family Safeguarding Team across Surrey provides outstanding services to adolescents and their families, focusing on safeguarding, early intervention, and providing support in times of crisis. As a member of this dynamic team, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and their families. You'll be working alongside a skilled group of professionals who are passionate about creating positive change in the lives of the families we work with. About the Role As an Advanced Social Worker within the Family Safeguarding Team, you will take on complex case management, undertake safeguarding assessments, conduct Care Act assessments, and lead Mental Capacity Assessments. You will be responsible for providing supervision to junior staff, offering reflective practice, and mentoring social work students. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to the development of best practice by supporting and facilitating case discussions and team training. Your role will also include collaborating with other professionals, including safeguarding teams, schools, and other agencies, to ensure that we provide a holistic approach to supporting adolescents and their families. You will use your expertise to work effectively within a strength-based framework and will ensure that the voices of children and families are central to all decision-making. Eligibility To be considered for this role, your application should clearly demonstrate the following: A relevant degree in social work and registration with Social Work England. Significant post-qualification experience as a Social Worker. Experience in providing reflective supervision and guidance to less experienced social workers, including those completing ASYE and students. A sound understanding and experience of The Care Act, The Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding procedures. Proven ability to work with complex cases and provide a range of professional interventions. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, as the role may require travel across a wide geographical area within Surrey.
