What is the role You will join this team of Locality Managers providing interim management support to local teams covering absences due to leave or other service needs, reporting directly to the Head of Service. You will ensure management continuity for our staff and volunteers to help them deliver effective services to people affected by crime in their local communities. You will be responsible for ensuring that VSS’s organisational objectives are being implemented at a local level nationally and have a role in business planning to ensure that all service users within your local area are aware of, and have access to, the support they need. This role will also have thematic responsibilities across the national service delivery team; thematic responsibilities will be agreed dependent on the skill set of the applicant. We are looking for someone who has experience of building and supporting teams, and is able to support staff and volunteers to excel in service delivery. People management skills will be key to this role, alongside skills in resource management and service planning. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Locality Manager, working 35 hours per week. Working pattern: Monday to Friday, however there will be a rota for extended hours coverage, this will include one day a week working until 8pm and a Saturday., further details can be discussed at interview stage Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh with occasional travel to other Victim Support Hubs across Scotland Salary: £34,974 - £46,187 on call allowance. Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with VSS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated. What you’ll need to be successful We are looking for a dynamic, driven, and motivated individual with a proven track record in managing and supporting the delivery of high-quality support and staff within our community and court services across the West area. You must have a degree qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience, continuing professional development and the ability to plan and organise complex workloads with shifting deadlines in order to meet specific targets, ensuring quality output. Good verbal and written communications skills, along with the ability and confidence to develop effective internal and external relationships which deliver organisational goals. And willingness to be flexible in working hours and able to travel as required.
