Operational Excellence Manager

Olon Spa, an Italian company and a world leader in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) using synthetic and biological processes for the generic market and Contract Development and Manufacturing (CDMO), is looking for an experienced OPEX Manager to drive an operational excellence culture change. About Olon Headquartered in Rodano, Italy, Olon has 14 manufacturing facilities employing over 2,800 resources: 9 in Italy, 1 in Spain, 3 in France, 1 in the USA, and 1 in India. All facilities comply with international standards, and the company maintains branch offices in China, Germany, and the USA. Role Overview The OPEX Manager will lead the development of the OLON Production System and oversee the OPEX transformation to enhance process improvement capabilities, focusing on process optimization, research, and innovation. Key Responsibilities Identify and align OPEX priorities, goals, and objectives. Collaborate with site leadership to improve critical areas. Establish strategies, KPIs, project goals, and assess results. Lead improvement projects to meet business needs. Promote OPEX culture and Lean Six Sigma capabilities organization-wide. Drive cultural change to eliminate process waste and achieve sustainable results. Monitor project progress through metrics and business scorecards. Contribute to digital transformation initiatives. Success Factors Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Effective team engagement and relationship-building abilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence others. Proven track record of continuous improvement with measurable outcomes. Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. Operational Excellence training/certification (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean). 3-5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing or business organizations. Experience deploying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Ability to facilitate change and obtain senior leadership buy-in. Leadership development experience is a plus.
