Job Description

Child and Youth Program Teen Coordinator Join to apply for the Child and Youth Program Teen Coordinator role at U.S. Navy Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Summary The incumbent works under the supervision of the Youth Director and is expected to operate with minimum supervision towards the overall objective of administering the CYP teen activities. Work is subject to review for program accomplishments, effectiveness, and compliance. Note: this person can work in a small, medium or large YP but may also assist with CDC activities. Responsibilities Develop and supervise developmentally appropriate teen programs fostering social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Implement core programs as per OPNAV and DoN requirements, including BGCA or 4-H programs. Organize special interest activities such as trips, events, and dances involving families. Engage youth and teens in planning to meet their social and recreational needs. Coordinate with other military installations for regional teen activities. Gather feedback on participant interests and recommend improvements. Indoor/outdoor Environment Prepare facilities for activities, ensuring safety standards are met. Secure supplies and equipment, maintaining age-appropriate and good condition. Manage equipment and supplies, ensuring proper storage. Interactions and Relationships Create a positive environment promoting healthy interactions and modeling sportsmanship. Use guidance techniques that encourage social skills, conflict resolution, and self-esteem. Supervision of Children and Youth Supervise and oversee program participants in line with policies. Ensure activities support youth development. Outreach Promote upcoming events and activities to families. Visit housing areas to encourage teen participation. Assist in youth sponsorship and newcomer orientation programs. Personnel Management Supervise staff and volunteers, supporting personnel actions and performance standards. Support EEO policies and resolve personnel issues. Compliance Ensure adherence to safety, security, and legal requirements. Additional Responsibilities In the absence of the Youth Director, perform their duties under supervision. Assist with grant applications and reporting. Report suspected child abuse or neglect as required. Minimum Requirements Must pass a physical, immunizations, and background checks. Must be a US citizen, at least 18 years old. Experience in youth programming or related education; specific credentials or degrees required as detailed. J-18808-Ljbffr
