Job Description

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Must have previous experience with Siemens equipment License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible. Certifications: Requires advanced certification in CT. Must-Have: Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science. Description: Conduct procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Use professional manners and methods to verify patient identification. Obtain patient history and assist patients and family members requiring extra attention. Ensure patient understanding whenever possible and ensure patient safety. Verify patient identification and ask and document pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age. Obtain images per protocols and manipulate images according to protocols. Perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of CT algorithms. Select appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy. Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols. Establish intravenous lines and administer IV contrast following safe injection procedures. Determine contrast eligibility and check appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol. Maintain a thorough understanding of PACS and transmit images to appropriate systems. Verify and segment images at the QC station. Access service tools to verify image transmission. Complete, modify, and/or cancel orders in an appropriate and timely manner. Cancel duplicate orders to avoid duplicate billing and ensure all charge information is accurate. Verify patient identification and ensure all appropriate demographic information is accurate on images. Perform tasks in a timely manner and create a consistent workflow. Volunteer to work on challenging tasks, difficult procedures, and new research. Produce quality diagnostic images. Review patient's chart and reports for correlation. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Create and keep documentation of incidents as improvement opportunities for employees and the department. Precept new employees and students.
