Teaching Assistant

We are working with a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Tunbridge Wells seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. Key Responsibilities: * Work alongside class teachers to support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons. * Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups to boost understanding and progress. * Assist in managing classroom behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment. * Support pupils with a range of needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEND) and English as an Additional Language (EAL). * Help monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment and observation records. * Prepare learning materials and assist with classroom organisation and displays. * Supervise pupils during break times and other non-classroom activities, as required. The ideal candidate will: * Have prior experience working with children or young people in a school or educational setting. * Be approachable, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. * Show initiative and flexibility, with the ability to adapt support to meet the needs of different learners. * Have strong communication skills and a good understanding of safeguarding practices. * Possess a minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Desirable: * Experience supporting pupils with SEND or behavioural needs. * Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. * Knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
