Job Description
The JRL Group is a leading Construction company that specialises in Main Contracting & RC Frames along with 14 divisions delivering bespoke solutions for the most complex projects. The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for providing JRL Group and its developments with specialist support, delivering sustainability and ESG initiatives across major construction projects. This is a full-time role, located in Borehamwood with travel to site and will report to the Head of Sustainability. Responsibilities include: • Delivering the sustainability strategy and programme across the business unit, addressing JRL sustainability ambitions, strategy and targets. • Working alongside JRL teams and our clients to ensure they meet their Sustainability KPIs and contractual obligations. • Working with projects from early involvement through to delivery, to identify and embed carbon and circularity savings. • Reporting on client emissions and identifying reduction initiatives. • Representing JRL on project related local forums, committees and groups. • Providing guidance and support to sites on community aspects of CCS to improve scores. • Record meeting minutes, site visit reports and correspondence with the project team to demonstrate progress against sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, WELL NABERS targets. • Develop and deliver training and awareness raising measures, supporting the site teams. • Support corporate environmental and sustainability activities and initiatives such as knowledge sharing and volunteering. Skills/Experience: • A solid understanding of sustainability, environmental issues, and the impact of the built environment. • Ensure timely, accurate client reporting and meet contractual obligations. • Ability to network, build relationships with, and influence internal and external stakeholders • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. • Ability to engage well with others and influence a range of key stakeholders. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. • Relevant degree or work experience in sustainability or a related field • Experience in data reporting. • Flexibility and willingness to travel as part of the role. • Innovative mind-set.
