Software Development Engineer - Test - Android Applications

Job Title : Android SDET (L8) Experience : 3 to 8 years Location : Vadodara Must Have : - 2 Years of testing Native Android Applications - Proficient in Espresso and Kotlin, Maestro and Paparazzi Android library good to have - Familiarity with Android Studio - Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, or any other open source tool. - Expert with manual and automated testing practices/standards - Ability to write and execute test cases for feature sets - Experience working in an Agile development team environment - Experience working collaboratively with Product and Developers to identify test cases and validate acceptance criteria. - Solid knowledge of SDLC, SQA Methodology, and tools. - Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure, AWS, etc.) Job Description : Core Responsibilities : - Write test scenario & test cases for Enterprise Application, within schedule and within estimated efforts. - Hands on experience with Android Automation, mobile UI automation & Android App architecture understanding. - Provide estimate for the assigned task - Write automated component, Integration & E2E test cases - Review unit test cases written by developers and fix minor code defects - Provide accurate status of the tasks - Comply with organizations processes. Policies and protects organizations Intellectual property. Also, participate in organization level process improvement and knowledge sharing. - Automated Testing of Android Apps - Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks (e.g., Espresso, UIAutomator). - Write robust UI, integration, and system tests for Android applications. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI). - Code Quality & Review - Collaborate with Android developers to ensure testability and performance. - Perform code reviews of test scripts and suggest improvements. - Test Strategy & Execution - Define test plans, strategies, and test cases for features and system-wide testing. - Use testing tools like Charles Proxy, Android Studio Profiler, Firebase Test Lab, etc. - Debugging & Defect Management - Investigate failures, analyze logs (logcat, crash logs), and report bugs in tools like JIRA. - Collaborate with development and product teams to triage and prioritize issues. - Performance & Regression Testing - Conduct performance, load, and stress testing for Android apps. - Build regression suites and ensure they run across devices and Android OS versions.
